Panel 2: Women Leaders: Impact on Corporate America
Leadership tone is set at the top, which is why diversifying “the top” is a business imperative for corporate America. Multiple studies show that women-led businesses consistently outperform those with mostly male boards and executives and the market* in general. (*Nordea study) Companies with women CEOs also have significantly more women leaders** on average than companies with male CEOs. (**38% more, UC Davis study) If women bring a lot to the table for businesses, why is it taking so long for businesses to increase women’s presence in corporate leadership? We will hear about experiences of women who made it to the top and their reflections about careers, leadership and how to address structural, social and empowerment issues that still stand in the way.
