Dilawar heads Freshdesk’s North America business overseeing enterprise sales, sick marketing, click customer success and partnerships. Backed by Tiger Global, Accel Partners and Google Capital, Freshdesk has rapidly grown to more than 50,000 customers globally. Earlier, Dilawar was head of platform strategy and operations at Yahoo!. In this role, he led strategic planning and business operations at Yahoo’s platform and infrastructure division and was instrumental in driving adoption of shared technologies across Yahoo! properties. Previously, Dilawar spent several years in product management in enterprise software at SAP and Siebel Systems (now part of Oracle). He launched and grew Siebel’s integration platform to a multi-million dollar business. In parallel to his entrepreneurial track, Dilawar has been a leader in civic efforts globally. In 2010, President Obama appointed Dilawar to the President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). Dilawar led White House’s engagement with the AAPI entrepreneurs across the U.S. and advocated for access to capital, patent reform, Health IT and immigration reform. Dilawar was a surrogate in President Obama’s 2012 campaign, and served as a member of the National Finance Committee in 2008. Dilawar is President of OPEN Global, an entrepreneurship non-profit with a mission of supporting entrepreneurs in diaspora communities across the globe.
Dilawar holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned Bachelors in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
