Wendy Toh is an accomplished IT executive with 20+ years of experience leading software development, client support, and professional services teams in both start-up and mature organizations. She is a client-facing leader who enjoys partnering with her customers to enable IT teams to deliver business value. In her current role, Wendy leads the IBM Watson & Cloud Platform Premium Support business and works with IBM enterprise customers to successfully deploy and run on IBM’s Cloud.
Wendy is passionate about helping clients adopt IBM technologies. Prior to her current role, Wendy was the Vice President for Rational Client Success – leading a WW team to deliver outstanding customer experience in deploying and using Rational software development tools.
Wendy was born in Malaysia and moved to the United States in the early 1980s. After graduating from the University of Florida with a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science, Wendy joined IBM as a software programmer. Prior to becoming an IBM executive, Wendy held a variety of technical and management positions in the software development discipline.
Wendy is actively involved in diversity-related activities at IBM with a special focus on Women and Asian diversity initiatives. She is a member of IBM’s Asian Council and is an Executive Sponsor for the IBM Women’s diversity network group in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Wendy is an experienced speaker on leadership, career management, and diversity topics at various conferences and symposiums.
In 2004, Wendy was a finalist for IBM’s Frances Allen Mentoring Award and was recognized as a “Tech All Star” at the 2004 Women of Color in Technology Awards Conference. Wendy is a two-time winner of IBM’s Management Excellence Award in recognition of her people management skills. In 2009, Wendy was presented the Manager Diversity and Inclusion Award from the IBM Research Triangle Area Diversity Council for her leadership, innovation and an ongoing commitment in creating a climate of diversity volunteerism.
Outside of IBM, Wendy enjoys watching sports, boating, shopping, traveling, reading, and entertaining friends. She does not enjoy exercising, but aspires to do so on a regular basis anyway. Wendy is married with 3 stepdaughters.
